Our goal is to support the Ballarat community to live comfortably whilst also looking after the environment that supports us.

A first for Ballarat – Go Local Week
Go Local Ballarat is about creating a more resilient community, economy and environment in the face of the significant challenges we face today – economic uncertainty, fragmentation of community, high rates of chronic diseases, health inequalities, climate change and other environmental issues.
Go Local Week was held in Ballarat from April 14th – 21st and was a hit, with over 275 people attending 9 events over the week. The events covered a range of food related topics including Ballarat’s first Food swap, a local produce dinner, film night, workshops in cheese making, preserving, espaliering and Permaculture and finishing up with an Open space forum – ‘How will Ballarat feed itself in 2020?
